About Barbara Heinrich

Barbara Heinrich’s ability to interpret nature through her jewelry stems from a desire to create she’s had since she was a child. Raised on her family’s winery in Germany, her childhood was spent creating beauty out of anything she found in the woods or meadows. She would string together flowers, special stones, or shells to create jewelry.

Her work is crafted in her studio in upstate New York where she uses traditional goldsmithing techniques to create her signature styles. Barbara, along with her professionally trained and talented team of jewelers, creates pieces with remarkable multi-textured finishes, using primarily 18-karat gold. This process defines her quintessential European look and award-winning jewelry.

The Jewelry

A studio artist trained in fine art, Barbara captures ideas and concepts using color renderings and line drawings, heavily inspired by the botanical world. She employs a large array of both ancient and modern goldsmithing techniques, leading to her signature rich textures and surface contrasts. Since she is both the designer and jewelry maker, there is a fluid process from the ideation to the creation of the finished jewelry.
